Preschoolers’ Parents Seek Out the Developmental Benefits of Technology
Preschoolers today have never known a world without interactive screens. The first iPad was released just before our oldest preschoolers were born, making them the first full wave of kids to experience tablets in their earliest years.
Technology is already ubiquitous in children’s lives, and parents believe it will be central to their futures. As such, they’re seeking to harness the benefits of digital devices.
Over 6 in 10 parents globally believe that technology is making their kids smarter. They think it’s important for kids to stay up to date with the latest developments. In turn, preschoolers are spending an average of 14 hours on devices each week. Two out of three have access to a tablet.
Parents do feel conflicted with technology, however. They worry about their kids coming across inappropriate content. Most say they limit the amount of time their children spend on devices.
In spite of these concerns, the perceived benefits of technology outweigh the risks for most parents. They see it as necessary to help prepare their preschoolers for life.
Tactical Tech Time helps today’s preschoolers attain the knowledge and problem-solving skills that they’ll need to get ahead in the future.
